One story that I found to be very interesting was the one about students taking stimulants to study better. It's very intriguing how people will turn to drugs for an edge in a field like academics.
A sad story was about a high school senior who was cut from her school's varsity basketball roster, after having played for three years on the junior varsity squad. She was supposed to finish on the varsity team as a senior, but her spot was taken by freshmen.

The website listed above is one of my favorite ones that I have come across. It has several interesting stories from local issues to various achievements from local students. The website has a very modern layout with calm colors. The website is easy to navigate and does not have confusing features.

The website listed above is one of my favorite ones that I have come across. It has several interesting stories about the high school students. The website has a very modern layout with semi bright colors. The website is very intricate and neat.

The website listed above is one of my favorite ones that I have come across. It has several interesting stories about the high school students. The website has a very modern layout yet very simple and classy. The layout is a bit similar to real local newspaper.

One of the two most touching stories was a story about homeless students at a local middle school. 31 of 798 students at the middle school are without a home. It is sad to see children in jeopardy. Several students state they have been homeless on and off. It is hard to see that a young child goes days with and without a home.
Another story which caught my attention was the story about teachers now appreciating social media and are now more involved. Teachers are now on Instagram, Twitter, Vine, and several other social media sites. When growing and living in and up and coming society even the older people want to fit in.

The post made by El elestogue about an electrical fire burning down a house had relevant pictures and a video. This post was well structured and well done much like various post by Global Vantage. Their website as a whole is well structured and contains a great vibe" it makes you feel like an artist has been there before. The websites of the aforementioned sites are organized and contain the same vibe at times even though it is consistent with Global Vantage. I prefer these sites over others of similar genres and styles because of the artistic feeling they give off much like beams to the sky.

Francis Howell High School has a really good website. The layout of the page really catches your eye, and since there are lots of pictures, it is very visually pleasing. They have really good pictures for all of their stories.
Southwest Shadow also has a very good website. I like the very plain look that they have on the masthead for the page. While the setup of the page is really cluttered, the overall flow of the page and the pictures is really nice.
The Foothill Dragon Press has a very layout for their main pictures at the top of the page. The red that they use is a really cool color. The page seems a little bland but the pictures at the top kind of make up for it.

Blog 3- Claire Fisher
Of all the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) online High School Digital Publication Crown Finalists and High School Hybrid Publication Crown Finalists I looked, the three I thought were best are the Knight Errant, the Campanile, and the Hoofprint.
I loved the Knight Errant from Benilde-St. Margaret’s School in St. Louis Park, Minnesota because the content was updated everyday and the stories were great. However, the main reason why I consider the Knight Errant one of the best online publications was because of its format. The website looks clean and professional but is still eye-catching; it is easy to navigate and find time-relevant stories in all categories; and it is easy to access through social media.
The Campanile from Palo Alto High School in Palo Alto, California is an exemplary newspaper because of the content of its stories. Though the format of website is only commendable and the stories have not been updated recently, the style of the stories are superb. Their stories range from world news updates to features stories on teachers with Twitters and all are well written.
Finally, my absolute favorite online publication was the Hoofprint from Walnut High School in Walnut, California. Visually this publication beats the competition to a pulp. The website looks amazing and is by far the most modern publication I viewed. In addition, it is really easy to navigate. The website is not updated as regularly as some of the others, but the content of the stories is good and it is updated enough that things on the home page aren't outdated.
When scrolling through stories on the Best of SNO website, the one story that caught my eye and captivated me was a story written by Mason Miller of Groom High School in Groom, Texas about his school potentially allowing teachers and faculty to carry concealed fire arms. I found this story extremely interesting because with the data he collected the topic seemed fairly reasonable and made think about the effect this could have on a school.
Another story that stood out to me was a story written by Zion Douglass of Catonsville High School in Catonsville, Maryland about Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) ratings. In this opinion piece, Douglass argues that when a movie tiptoes the line between a PG-13 and R rating, companies choose to give it a PG-13 rating because the limits placed on R-rated movies limit its success. This topic is something I feel strongly about and the points Douglass brings up are thought-evoking and well supported.

- jjnation.com The pictures are very bright and clear and the website itself is very eye catchy and interesting. I also like the tweets that pop up every second keeping track of news.
- Knight Errant newspaper- The layout of the website is easy to comprehend and not confusing. I like the separate tab dedicated to reviews. It really stands out the website. Also, the box stating "like us on Facebook" makes the website look very professional.
- .elestoque.org The articles are published on varying dates which shows that students are punctual and keeping up with all their assignments. The online posting of the issues can keep the readers involve in the school's activities and news. I like the opinion section because most of the high school students care about their opinions to be heard.
- "Go north for an education?" talks about students going to Canada for higher education which rises the major issue of dramatic increase in tuition for universities. The topic is essential because it allows for the students to know that high tuition is causing seniors to look for others alternatives.
- "Dangers of distracted drivers" article talks about driving and texting. It is important because as students are getting their license to drive, they somehow cannot get over their habbit of texting every minute which can be deadly. Students should know about the dangers.

1. el Estoque - The layout of the website is excellent, very modern and balanced with a mix of stories and pictures/videos. They have their paper publication and a section for videos right there on the front page. The stories are updated multiple times a week. Everything is well formatted.
2. HiLite - This website is designed professionally as well. There a many sections on the front page (so it's a little long), but it's easy to find the story you want. They have a section for social media and even a twitter feed, which is definitely something our own website should have. The stories are also updated multiple times a week, which is something we need to work on.
3. Tiger Times - The first thing I noticed when I went onto the website was the color scheme, which is made up of orange, black and white and is very attractive. I like how the font is bigger on this site as compared to others. Each story post has a picture besides it, even if it's just a small thumbnail, and this adds a lot of aesthetic appeal. If the stories were updated more frequently this would definitely be my favorite website.
1. Las Vegas student immerses himself in in K-pop culture
The title itself is eye-catching simply because of how unique the topic is. The story is not really a story but a profile with questions and quotes and no transitions, which works surprisingly well in this case.
2. Replace textbooks with tablets
This is a short opinion piece which has a title that tells you right off what the story is about and what the writer believes. I like the work because it's short and relevant, just the type of story to have on a website.
