1. Eric Berger is the face behind Chron.com’s Science blog,
SciGuy. Berger dreamed of the stars and graduated the University of Texas with
a degree in astronomy. However, dedicating a career to the classification of
stars seemed dull to him, so he dove into journalism hoping to find a way to
share the mysteries and complexities of science. He began the SciGuy blog in
2005, covering all scientific topics from weather to science policies to
physics.
2. Margaret Sullivan runs the aptly named Public Editor’s
Journal on the Opinion Pages of the New York Times website. She is the fifth
public editor appointed by the Times. She began with the Times in 2012 after being editor and vice-president of the Buffalo News.
She served four times as a juror on the Pulitzer Prize board. A native of Lackawanna, N.Y., Sullivan is a graduate
of Georgetown University and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern
University, where she is a member of its Hall of Achievement. Her blog
covers many controversial issues, such as the futures of the homeless, social security,
and NSA leaker Edward Snowden.
