BLOG 1

  1. Betwa Sharma is apart of the NYT blogs in their category India Ink. She tends to cover human rights in India (which is so closely linked to politics), but recently she has been extensively covering the courts' coverage of gang rape cases and the failings of the Indian judicial system. She has a track record of covering mainly human rights and also works for the Huffington Post. In her latest blog for the NYT, she explores whether India is truly safe for women.
  2. Vaibhav Vats is also a NYT blogger in their category India Ink. Rather than cover human rights specifically, he covers politics and how rampant corruption hasn't been eliminated from all forms of the Indian government. For example, he wrote a blog that related politics to Cricket, a popular sport in India. Actually, his blog does have a lot of cricket in it as well...He even wrote a book about his travels through India during cricket season. He studied in Colombia (journalism), although he was schooled in India for his bachelors degree.
