1. My favorite online newspapers were The Foothill Dragon Press (of Foothill Technology High School in Ventura, CA), the Red Ledger (of Lovejoy High School in Lucas, TX) and the Southwest Shadow Column (of Southwest Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas, NV). I enjoyed these newspapers because they were aesthetically pleasing to look at, with colorful articles and an interesting, easy to navigate format. The articles all had interesting titles that made me want to click, and they were grouped into categories like Opinion, Fashion, Columnists and Student Life. These stories had great voice and depth, and all of them were interesting to read. They included videos, Instagram posts and other cool features (such as weather reports and polls on current events). There was much opportunity for student/ newspaper interaction.
2. One article that stood out for me was the feature on the dangers of distracted driving. As a new driver, I can now personally relate to the risks and temptations of driving. Sometimes just looking at the road can make you distracted, much less using a cellphone. A few days ago, I almost got hit by a driver who ran a red light at a busy intersection. If I had been distracted and had stopped a second later, I would have been severely hit and injured along with my parents (who were also in the car with me).
Another article that I found intriguing was the article on the truth about group projects. I have found myself in several of the positions mentioned in the article, (ex. The Boss, the Worker, the Lazy one, etc.) It was an amusing and fun article to read.
