Favorite Online:

1) FHNOnline is my favorite online newspaper of the winners. While most online papers have a color scheme, FHNOnline does really well keeping everything related to the scheme. It is also very clean and simple, where other sites have more features, but are also more cluttered. Also, I like the organization of the site, with visuals very prominent, taking almost a third of the website. Recent Galleries have just as much space as Latest Stories, and the latest update in each section is on display at the bottom.

2) The Rider Online is a close second. It is less clean because it has more extra features and effects, but the extra things contribute to the quality of the paper. I place it second to FHNOnline because it does not have a floating bar that links to each section which means I have to scroll to the top to find the sections. It also links to all of the paper's other accounts, like on Instagram, photos, and videos.

3) The Foothill Dragon Press is also one of my favorites. It takes advantage of the abilities of the internet more than the other papers, like the special effects in the story collage at the top of the front. It also links to things like the weather, videos, and photos that are relevant to the student body. The paper also has lots of subsections that clearly delineate where each story goes.

Feature stories:

1) "Tanning beds banned for teenagers under 18 in Illinois" is the feature story I found most intriguing. Given the "perfect physique" perpetrated by the media, tanning bed use has exploded. Legislation like this in Illinois may lead to similar laws elsewhere to protect kids from the possible dangers.

2) "“The Lego Movie” not missing any pieces" is the most fun feature story. It is a really in depth analysis of the film that for other may just be a fun day at the movies.
